1933: The beginnings

Albert and Erwin Jaus start making bread in a former consumer bakery in Bad Cannstatt. At that time, a kilo of bread cost 45 pfennigs, which meant that an hourly wage could buy exactly one kilo of bread.

In the first six years, the number of employees grows to 22, and around 2,000 kilos of bread are produced every day, which are delivered to customers via four sales tours.

1949: Growth and diversification

The product range already comprises 12 articles and annual sales reach one million DM. Six fresh delivery tours supply around 500 customers in the Stuttgart area. This expansion demonstrates the growing confidence of customers in the Jaus brand.

1962: Expansion to Weißenhorn

Jaus takes over the Mayer bakery in Weissenhorn and opens a branch. This marks the beginning of a new era for the company, as it is now also active outside Stuttgart and increases its reach.

1973: Move to new premises

The company moves to Karl Jaus & Söhne GmbH u. Co. KG at Daimlerstraße 18-20 in Weißenhorn. Not only is production modernized here, but total daily production now exceeds the 50-ton mark. The product range grows to around 120 items, which meets the increasing demands of the market.

1988-2008: Integration into larger corporate groups

During these two decades, Jaus successively became part of various corporate groups such as Wilhelm Weber GmbH, the Wendeln Group, Kamps Brot- und Backwaren and Lieken GmbH. These integrations enable the company to expand its production capacities and open up new markets.

2016: Independence as Jaus Bakery GmbH

After years of integration, Jaus becomes independent again and separates from the Lieken Group. This step marks a new beginning for Jaus Bakery with the aim of continuing its tradition while remaining innovative. The return to independence makes it possible to react more flexibly to changes in the market and to focus more strongly on quality and customer satisfaction.
